You've only got $30. The Upper 15th Street Shopping District is holding a peculiar power over you. And as it happens, you need to procure a present for someone you love, know, or simply must appease by gift. Yes, you live a highly circumstantial lifestyle, but if any of the above ever makes a mark on your weekly to-do list, step into Phoebe's Past and Present, a quaint and fresh gift store improbably located between Paris on the Platte and My Brother's Bar.
Opened three years ago, owner Amy Oviatt envisioned that Phoebe's would be a place where everyone could buy a gift for anyone at or less than the moderate price of $30, explains sales rep Kristan Barnes. Despite the store's funky and sometimes frilly furnishings, Barnes says customers buy big into Phoebe's steady supply of cleaning products by Caldrea (not your ordinary Pine-Sol, these cleaners are made luxurious for the user and friendly for the earth) and into the store's eclectic gift card collection, which steps outside the limits of the gold crown envelope. Luxury possessions for your pet, picture frames adorned with vintage typewriter keys, and all things shiny, fun, and possibly fragrant can be found at Phoebe's Past and Present.
Phoebe's Past and Present (303-458-5544) is located at 1535 Platte, near the intersection of 15th and Platte.
