I hate to admit it, but a girl can get a bit tired of being a feminist: Going Dutch on every date really takes its toll on your pocketbook.
Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to be a kept woman, to let some beneficent paramour cover my expenses and to let him treat me to an elegant dinner at a classy joint like the Denver Chophouse.
Pricey, but not the priciest, the Chophouse offers an elevated dining experience without the over-the-top hype and fuss that can sometimes go with luxury. The atmosphere in the space is relaxed and romantic, with dark woods, low lighting, and plenty of shadows.
The service is attentive but never hovering and persistent: You and your partner will have everything you need right at your fingertips as well as plenty of time to yourself.
With $14 salads and $30 steaks, the Chophouse doesn’t have many cheap eats on its menu, but the fresh, tender slabs of beef are worth every penny in his pocket. This steakhouse definitely gives you what you pay for, offering big portions and deluxe preparations like béarnaise sauce and crab or gorgonzola butter and shitake mushrooms.
And don’t forget the Chophouse’s array of custom cocktails mixed with top-shelf booze, an extensive list of fine wines available by the bottle, and several small batch bourbons.
No matter what brings you to the Chophouse, odds are you will have a superb, meat-centric meal. And if you can get someone else to pay for it, it’s absolute bliss.
