If you’re looking for a hot date spot with a tang of geekiness, then the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is the place for you.
The DMNS is a place where your inner child can roam free. And with nine exhibits under one roof, it is guaranteed to introduce you both to some new and interesting things.
Once you make your way through the foyer you’ll notice the Mars rover. Don’t get too excited though; it’s just a replica. But don’t worry—real fun is waiting up ahead inside Space Odyssey.
As you walk through the corridor to this exhibit, take some time to gander at the photos of various space phenomena on the walls. Not only are they educational, buy they are also amazing and beautiful—but that is only the beginning.
Upon entering the exhibit itself take a look overhead. You’ll notice some constellations hanging just above—cue the romance.
Inside Space Odyssey you can do everything from exploring the Martian landscape, to learning how the solar system works, and even practice driving a spacecraft of your own.
When that is over, be sure to visit the planetarium. With five shows to choose from there is bound to be something both you and your date would enjoy.
Nuzzle together in the comfortable reclining seats as the planetarium brings space to life right before your eyes. It is a truly unique experience.
Once you are through with that, hit the Gems and Minerals exhibit.
This exhibit is chock-full of information about anything and everything that comes from the Earth.
Every type of mineral you never knew existed, and every gem, from gypsum to diamonds, can be found in this exhibit. It will tantalite the geologist in everyone.
Next, be sure to head upstairs and, while there are several exhibits you can visit on the second floor, like North American Indian Cultures, or the various wildlife exhibits, there is one place you absolutely must visit–Expedition Health.
Expedition Health is the most interactive exhibit in the entire museum. It can answer almost any question you have ever had about the human body. Learn how fast your heart beats, or discover why you get goose bumps on your skin when it’s cold. You can even challenge your date to a relaxation exercise where you use your actual brain waves to help you win.
This exhibit offers endless possibilities of fun and discovery.
Finally, no museum would be complete without dinosaurs, and the DMNS is no exception.
The Prehistoric Journey exhibit located on the third floor is guaranteed to bring out the child in everyone. So take your date by the hand and explore the exciting world of the giant beasts that used to roam the planet millions of years ago.
The DMNS offers a unique experience where you can explore new lands, visit ones from times past, and take part in interactive exhibits too. And with a generous student discount, it is a great place for a mid-day date with that special someone.
