As the mercury begins to rise, and love is in the air, Valentines Day draws near. This means that it’s time to grab that certain someone and have a night on the town, and there’s no better place to start off than Broadway.

Just minutes from campus you can find a vast array of restaurants, movie theaters, and bars that are sure to make an evening out utterly spectacular.

You can begin with dinner at Karma Asian (22 S Broadway). Their happy hour menu is divine with $3 appetizers, $6 entrées, $1 sake, and two-for-one beer. Running from 3 p.m.–6 p.m. it’s the perfect start to a romantic night.

After dinner take a stroll up two blocks to The Mayan Theatre (110 S Broadway). This historical theatre has been around since 1930 and shows some of the best independent and foreign language films you won’t see at any other venue in town.

The Mayan Theatre breaks the norm of other movie theaters because it hosts its own café for coffee and snacks, and even its own bar–if you want to keep that happy hour buzz going, that is.

If dinner and a movie aren’t what you are looking for Broadway still has you covered.

With a vast array of bars and pubs, there is bound to be something that suits your fancy and gets your night off to a great start.

Dougherty’s Neighborhood Pub is a great place to kick off the night. With a friendly staff and simple décor, this spot could be the beginning of a memorable evening.

A couple appetizers and drinks later hit the pavement and walk on over to Three Kings Tavern (60 S Broadway) where you can enjoy a live band and even better bartenders. With its high-energy atmosphere, Three Kings Tavern is bound to get your blood pumping.

Once you’ve had enough of that, treat yourselves to a little breather. Enjoy a slow stroll down the road with your date, and admire the evening lights of the Denver skyline. Watch them glow in the brisk early spring night as you make your way to the Skylark Lounge (140 S Broadway).

Noted as one of the best-decorated bars in Denver, the Skylark Lounge is the place you want to be as your night winds down.

Pool tables, shuffleboard, and the easy sounds of the 60s, 70s, and beyond, the Skylark Lounge could be just the thing to set the mood for you and that special someone.

No matter what you have in mind, Broadway has it all. Restaurants, bars and pubs, even a movie theatre, it’s the one stop destination to make any date night a memorable one.
