As responsible drivers we should always be prepared for the worst, but sometimes the unexpected happens. With the campus Motorist Assistance Program, help is just a phone call away.

In the depths of the semester we often rush about at the last minute, so whenever we have minor car problems it can have a ripple effect that ruins our entire schedule.

As a part of AHEC, Auraria Parking and Transportation Services provides parking facilities and services for 15 surface lots, close-by street parking, a four-story 1,715 space parking structure, and a five-story 819 space parking structure. The Motorist Assistance Program provides car help to these parking areas, to contact them call 303-556-2000.

As long as you have paid the parking fee, parking personnel will jump-start dead batteries, assist in fixing flat tires, and even give you a gallon of gas to get you to the next gas station. Jumper cables, tire tools, water, and gasoline cans are also available at no cost because sometimes it takes more than the half-full bottle of water found in the back seat to get an overheated car to the gas station.

Because of the anti-theft features on most new cars, side airbags, and the potential for a large amount of damage it does not provide a vehicle unlocking service. But, you can call the Auraria Police Department at 303-556-5000 and they can locate a locksmith.

For assistance on the Anschutz campus call 303-724-2000 for the University Police Department, which can assist with jump-starting your vehicle. This service is free 24 hours a day, but it does not assist with tire changes or any other mechanical problems.
