As a student at UC Denver, your student fees ($4.50 of them) pay for the publishing and payroll of this student paper. Hence, it is in your best interest to know who's working for you.
Our senior staff is made up of a lot of returning Advocators, and a few newbies. With our powers combined, we work endlessly long hours to provide you with your weekly paper.
Dana Dill, our former inFocus editor, is now managing editor. When she's not lusting after cupcakes, lobster, and champagne, that is.
Bryan Smith, our News editor, brings to the table the only maturity available in the Advocate office. He spent last year as a writer, a design editor, and a videographer. Bryan still designs for us this year, but most of his time is spent receiving and finding interesting and relevant news on campus and around downtown.
Taking a break from numbers and rules (also colors—colors are rules, too), Steve Weishampel, our former copy editor is now the Forum editor.
JC Speck and Barry Lynch both wrote for the paper last year, and are now the inFocus and Noise editors, respectively. Speck and Lynch have their fingers on the cultural beat of campus and downtown Denver, constantly looking for the breakout bands, great places to eat, and how to have fun in between classes.
Kaitlin Cranor and Katie Sammons, newbies to the Advocate, will be taking on the ever-challenging role of discussing Twilight while copy editing the paper. If you find any errors, shoot them an email—they love to hear from readers.
Robin Edwards, former Noise editor, is taking over the senior editor position—although she'd rather be travelling around the country in a tiny van with her band.
John Lindquist joins us as a design editor, and Olivia Lewis is taking over as lead photographer. Both are committed to making your paper look good.
Josh Pauletic is staying on as advertising manager. Thankfully. Because none of the staff know anything about selling ads.
Last, I am taking over as editor in chief after writing last year. Basically, I'm just trying not to fuck everything up.
