Microwaves on Campus

Except for Biker Jim’s, the selection of food Auraria offers can get old quick. That’s when the option of bringing a meal comes into play, and a microwave can come in handy when it comes to heating up last night’s leftovers.

There is no master list of microwaves on campus so the Advocate set out on foot and found 11 microwaves. A microwave on the ground level of Lawrence Street Center near the vending machines and FedEx/UPS pickup is the newest addition to Auraria’s microwave modicum.

All the way on the opposite side of campus on the first floor of the Administration Building a microwave sits ready to have its buttons pushed.

A block away just inside the 7th Street Building there’s another nuker.

The King Center houses a burrito exploder squeezed in between the vending machines on the first floor.

In the southeast corner of the Arts Building there’s a heat-up cube. And a floor up and a building over in West Building another microwave awaits usage in a student commons.

In a hallway to the left just inside the South Classroom Building a microwave there is, as well as on the northeast end of North Classroom on the second floor.

On the first floor of the Science Building an electromagnetic wave box stands near the convenience store.

The Advocate thinks a respectable amount of microwaves is one in every building, and two in busier buildings near vending machines. The Tivoli Student Union is the only building that meets that standard with one in the convenience store and another in Sigi’s Pool Hall & Arcade.
