Boy, there are a lot of things you can do with your computer. One of them could be recording a drum lesson and burning it to a CD. Instead of including the CD with a how-to book, though, jazzy drumstick twirler Christian Prommer packages it nicely in the form of an album that is impossible to listen to.

The first track, "Sandstorms," starts by droning an organ chord, which is obviously synthetic. Then the percussion comes in, which also sounds fake. But, since Prommer is in fact a percussionist, let's just assume it's an actual recording of him hitting something with wood. Prommer then throws in about every sampled sound that comes with GarageBand. The track builds up dynamically, making it seem like a climactic, hedonistic ritual of a drum circle is about to commence.

And then for some reason it stops. Almost every track on Drumlesson Zwei repeats this pattern. While it's not much of an improvement, Prommer breaks the mold by occasionally switching to cheap, instrumental renditions of Ace Of Bass songs.

Lighting this disc on fire would be more gratifying than sitting through Prommer's hour-long, migraine-inducing record. But let it be known, Prommer is a talented percussionist. He is also, however, incapable of writing a song.
