Night two of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers confirmed that Petty isn't stopping or slowing down. Touring to support the new album, Mojo, the first release from the group in almost eight years, Petty made it clear he has gotten his mojo back.

In what could be described as perfect Red Rocks weather, Petty gave the audience what they wanted. Behind several large video panels that displayed images that resembled iTunes Visualizer, Petty performed favorites like, "Gonna Listen to Her Heart," "Mary Jane's Last Dance," and "Free Falling."

When Petty and the band sang "Breakdown," Petty took it down a notch by slowing down the song and giving it a groovy, blues ending. The audience started dancing, singing, and reaching into the sky, forming massive sing-alongs for almost the entire first part of the concert. It was 1979 all over again.

After ensuring the audience's attention, Petty busted out five new songs off the album Mojo. The tracks included "Taking My Time," "First Flash of Freedom," and "Good Enough," among others. The new tracks exposed a bluesy, jam taste in Petty. This tour might be the only time Petty performs all of these tracks live again, considering his large catalog of music. Despite that possibility, several fans left while grumbling about wanting to hear their favorites.

But the dissipation of a few fans wasn't going to stop the show or lessen Petty's spirits. Smiling ear to ear, Petty thanked the crowd several times for listening to the new music, then rounded the night out with stellar performances of longtime fan favorites. "Learning to Fly," "Refuge," and "Don't Come Around Here No More" closed up the set for the night, only leaving the encore.

Petty and his band returned to thank the crowd again before jumping into the last bit of the night. They played "Running Down a Dream" and "You Wreck Me," which had about 30 second Phish-like jam.

While the crowd was screaming, Petty closed the night with "American Girl." The crowd spewed happiness even as the house lights turned on and the show ended. Perfect weather, perfect setlist, and a perfect show. There couldn't be a better ending for a two-night set at Red Rocks, or a better way to start out a summer.
