Anatomy 101: According to the GOP

For the past year the GOP has been talking about how they want to shrink government. But as badly as they want that, they aren’t necessarily saying they want to get out of our lives altogether either.

Alabama State Rep. Mary Sue McClurkin is working to push legislation that would restrict abortion clinics from operating, her reason being that an abortion is a major surgical procedure that removes the largest organ from a woman’s body.

Yes, the GOP have managed to top themselves—and undermine their prior personhood bills—by claiming that a zygote is no longer a person, but rather an organ within a woman’s body.

Basic human anatomy tells us that the largest organ in the human body–male or female–is the skin, so for McClurkin to declare otherwise raises concerns about the GOP’s take on science—because let’s face it, those concerns are already there.

This ploy from the GOP only adds to the list of outrageous comments said by the party to stop abortions, birth control, and a woman’s right to choose.

The absurdity of this claim proves that the GOP will go to any length to pass their agenda. And in their effort to win the battle they have proven one thing: Government should be small, except when it has to do with women’s bodies, because what do those scientists know anyway?
