Let The Next Four Years Commence

President Barack Obama has been inaugurated for another four years as Commander in Chief of the United States, and with that, as with all second terms, this is the beginning of his legacy.
If his inaugural speech is any indication, we should expect a more aggressive approach to climate change, possibly serious policies proposed, designed to curb the rapid heating of the planet.
The president also sent waves through the nation with his comments concerning gay rights. “Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law,” he said. This marks a change to his previous position concerning gay marriage. But it also speaks to his ability to evolve with the ever changing needs of the country.
Meanwhile, Republicans are screaming liberalism and scrambling to devise a way to convince the American public that this is the beginning of a new regime where spending runs rampant, and deficits explode out of control.
It’s the same old song and dance from those dysfunctional big wigs in Washington. Instead of focusing on the hope and resilience of the United States, they would rather terrify the public and convince them we are headed to oblivion.
Let’s hope the next four years are able to bring an end to that mentality, and finally bring this nation together.
