Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to what we call the annual Est issue. It’s our two cents, our personal take on the best and worst of Auraria and Denver as a whole.

The Advocate is an eclectic bunch. Just like you, we love, we hate. We go to class and troll around downtown Denver. We identify with that you’re interested in.

Some of our picks are obscure, some are more general. We attack pop culture and give shout-outs to the underdogs.

The Est issue is a healthy mix of the things we hate, the things we love, and the things we didn’t get to bash and/or rave about during the school year because of a lack of space in the paper.

We compile the Est issue as a palette cleanser for the student body. Finals week is right around the corner, we’re staggering across the finish line with you.

The Est issue is easy to read, there are a lot of laughs, and hopefully we spark your curiosity enough to give some of our awardees a shot.

After a full year of support—and from what I’ve seen, the most support—from the student body and administration, the Est issue is a chance to give a little something back.

This marks the end of our run for the 2011–2012 season. Take the Est issue with you, and take our words for it. We just might help you stumble upon your new favorite bar or eatery.

Hats off to you, the readers. Thanks for sticking with us through the great issues, and the lackluster ones. Have a great finals week, and an even greater summer.
